What Goes Into Every Bathroom We Remodel
The part of a bathroom you’ll never see is the part we won’t cut. Here’s what goes behind the tile, and how the price gets set.
Waterproofing Is Not Optional
Every shower gets a full waterproofing system from Schluter or Guru, not a coating. We won’t go below that at any price.
Curbless Showers
Both systems offer a zero-entry shower we can build without cutting into the floor framing. On a concrete slab, the concrete has to be broken out.
Design Retainer Only When Needed
If a toilet moves, a tub becomes a shower or a shower becomes a tub, the design work runs on a retainer. Replace fixtures where they are and there’s no retainer.
No Builder Change Order Guarantee
Our proposals are reviewed by our project managers and checked against subcontractor bids before you see them. Short of rot or code problems we can’t see until demolition, the price you sign is the price you pay.
Showers, Tubs, Vanities and Tile
Vanities
Vanities from the same three cabinet lines we use in kitchens: US Cabinet Depot, Fabuwood and Plain & Fancy.
Walk-In Showers
Tiled showers over a Schluter or Guru waterproofing system, including curbless.
Freestanding Tubs
Freestanding soaking tubs. Turning a tub into a shower, or a shower into a tub, is design work and starts with a layout.
Tile and Finishes
Tile, counters and fixtures chosen at our design center in Forsyth.
Lighting and Mirrors
Lighting and mirrors chosen with the rest of your selections, so they’re priced in from the start.
Storage Solutions
Linen cabinets and built-ins from the same cabinet line as the vanity.

Glass-Free Walk-In Shower in Hampton
Hampton, GA. A gutted primary bath rebuilt with a Japanese-style shower and no glass, a freestanding tub, 24×24 tile on every wall, Fabuwood cabinets and a urinal beside the toilet.
Spare Bedroom to Primary Bath in Cochran
Cochran, GA. It started with a thin brick floor and became a new primary bath built from an unused bedroom: freestanding tub, walk-in shower, double vanity with a linen tower and a custom closet.
Whole-Home Renovation and Addition in Forsyth
Forsyth, GA. A 1950s childhood home almost fully gutted for the next generation: an opened-up kitchen, a primary suite addition, new hardwood, new windows and a staged reveal.
How Much Does a Bathroom Remodel Cost?
A master bath with a tub, a shower and a double vanity generally runs $25,000 to $60,000 here. A secondary bathroom runs $15,000 to $30,000. See what moves the number.
Factors That Impact Cost
Fixtures and Plumbing
Fixtures that stay where they are cost far less than fixtures that move. Moving a toilet or a drain is what turns a bath into design work.
Tile and Material Selections
Tile, counters, the vanity’s cabinet line and the shower glass all move the price.
Layout Changes
Relocating plumbing or switching a tub to a shower means design work before pricing, and that’s when the design retainer applies.

Bathroom Remodeling FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most about bathroom remodels.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost?
A master bath generally runs $25,000 to $60,000 and a secondary bath $15,000 to $30,000. Where you land depends on your selections and whether anything moves.
What features should I prioritize in a bathroom remodel?
Start with what you’ll never see: the shower waterproofing. After that, spend on the things you touch every day, like the vanity and the shower.
Is a walk-in shower or soaking tub a better investment?
We won’t promise resale value. Pick the one you’ll use. Just know that switching a tub to a shower, or the other way around, adds design work.
How can I make a small bathroom feel larger?
Glass shower panels instead of a curtain, a curbless shower and lighter tile all help.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
It depends on the scope, the tile and the vanity’s cabinet lead time, which runs from about 2 weeks to 18 weeks depending on the line.
What's the first step in remodeling my bathroom?
Start at our design center. If nothing moves, you make selections, we measure and you get a price. If a fixture moves, the design work starts on a retainer first.
