James Hardie Siding Replacement in Henry County and Middle Georgia
We handle James Hardie siding replacement the whole way: tear off the old, fix what’s behind it, and install new James Hardie fiber cement to the manufacturer’s own installation standard. We’ve done it for 25 years, out of our office in Hampton and our design center in Forsyth, for homeowners across Henry County, Middle Georgia and Metro Atlanta.
On a typical three-bedroom, two-bath ranch, James Hardie siding runs $15,000 to $20,000 primed and painted, or $20,000 to $30,000 with new soffit and fascia. What makes that number move →

See Your Home with New Siding Before Anything Gets Torn Off
We measure your house with HOVER from photos you take on your phone. That gives us exact measurements and a 3D model of your actual house, not a stock picture of one like it. Then we put your colors and siding profiles on it, so you’re choosing from your own house. How the HOVER measurement works, and how to do it yourself →
Why Homeowners Replace Their Siding
Keep Water Out of the Walls
Siding is the outer layer of the wall. When it fails, water gets into the sheathing and framing behind it, and that’s where the expensive damage is.
Stop Repainting the Same Boards
Swelling, peeling and boards that won’t hold paint usually mean the siding itself is failing, not the paint.
A Product the Manufacturer Stands Behind
Primed James Hardie lap siding carries a 30-year non-prorated product warranty from James Hardie, as long as it’s installed to Hardie’s requirements.
Recover Most of What You Spend
The 2025 Cost vs. Value report puts fiber cement siding replacement at 114% of its cost recouped at resale nationally.
James Hardie, Installed the Way James Hardie Says to Install It
We install James Hardie fiber cement, primed or ColorPlus, and we tear off the old siding every time. We don’t install new siding over old siding. James Hardie’s installation requirements don’t allow it, and if it fails the warranty goes with it.
Primed or ColorPlus? ColorPlus costs more up front and finishes the job sooner, because there’s no painter to schedule.

Two Warranties: James Hardie's on the Product, Ours on the Installation
James Hardie’s warranty covers the siding itself. It doesn’t cover how it was put on. That part is ours.
Our 30-year workmanship warranty. We warranty our siding installation labor for 30 years. We can do that because every job runs the same checklist of James Hardie best practices, start to finish.

Is It Time to Replace Your Siding?
Cracks or Warping
Cracked, warped or buckling boards can mean aging material, or water getting in behind it.
Soft Spots or Rot
Push on the bottom edge of a board. If it’s soft, swollen or crumbling, water is already inside it. On 1980s and 1990s houses this is usually hardboard siding.
Paint That Won't Hold
If you repaint and it’s peeling again in a year or two, the boards underneath are usually the problem.
Nails You Can See
Nail heads punched into the face of fiber cement boards are a sign of an installation problem that shortens the life of the siding.
What Affects Siding Costs?
The ranch numbers at the top of this page are where most of our jobs start. Here’s what moves a house up or down from there.
Every proposal we send is itemized down to the board, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for and compare it line by line against anybody else’s. Estimate or proposal? →
Factors That Impact Cost
Material and Finish
Primed and painted costs less up front; ColorPlus costs more and needs no painter.
Size and Design of the House
More wall, more corners, more gables and more stories mean more material and more labor.
What's Behind the Old Siding
We can’t see the sheathing until the old siding comes off. Rot that surprises everybody typically adds $2,500 to $5,000 in repairs. If there are signs of bigger damage, we tell you before you sign.
Trim, Soffit and Fascia
Replacing soffit and fascia with the siding is the biggest single jump in the price, and it’s often the right call.

How a Siding Job Runs
- A phone call first. We ask what you’re hoping to get done and give you a budget range on the call, before anybody drives to your house. What happens after you call →
- HOVER measurements and your colors. Exact measurements from your phone photos, and a 3D model of your house in the colors you’re considering.
- An itemized proposal. Every line priced, with any optional upgrades listed separately so you can check or uncheck them.
- The handoff meeting. On the day work starts, Thomas walks Chris, our project manager, and the installers through your job, so everybody knows exactly what’s being done.
- Full tear-off. The old siding comes off. If we find rot, we show you before it’s repaired.
- Installation, checked four times. Chris runs our James Hardie best-practices checklist at four points during the job, not once at the end.
- Final walkthrough. Chris walks the house with you, and the job isn’t closed until you’re satisfied.
How long it takes. Siding alone usually takes about two working weeks, and about three with soffit and fascia. Painting adds three to five working days, and ColorPlus skips that step. There can be a gap between trades, so working days aren’t always calendar days.
And if you need more than siding. We also do windows, gutters, soffit and fascia, and roofs, so one company is responsible for where they meet. That matters most at the flashing between the siding and the roof, which is where houses leak and separate contractors blame each other. If you’d rather do the work in stages, the order that saves money is windows first, then siding, soffit and fascia, then the roof. What a full exterior renovation costs →

Stucco to Hardie Siding in Marietta
Marietta, GA. Cracked stucco, installed with no expansion joints, came off. Primed James Hardie board and batten went on the front and lap siding on the sides and back, with Horizon Stone, an 8-foot front door, new windows in place of some arched ones and a new front porch roof.
Hardie Siding on Lake Oconee
Eatonton, GA, on Lake Oconee. Cedar shake came off and James Hardie shake, board and batten and lap siding went on. Rot behind the shake, the window trim and the stone turned it into a bigger job, with new ProVia Terra Cut stone in Niagara and porch, balcony and deck repairs.
Vinyl to Hardie Siding in Griffin
Griffin, GA. The vinyl came off an older home with no sheathing behind it. We added batt insulation and OSB sheathing, then primed James Hardie siding, soffit and fascia, Simonton casement windows and gutters with Everclean.

Siding FAQs
Choosing the right siding for your home comes with plenty of questions. Here are answers to some of the most common topics homeowners ask when planning a siding replacement or exterior renovation.
Why do homeowners choose James Hardie siding?
It stands up to Georgia heat and humidity, it doesn’t rot the way wood and hardboard siding do, and it carries a 30-year non-prorated product warranty on primed lap siding. It also costs more than vinyl. Is James Hardie worth it? An honest review →
How long does fiber cement siding last?
James Hardie warranties primed lap siding for 30 years and the ColorPlus finish for 15. A warranty isn’t a lifespan, though. How long the siding actually lasts depends mostly on how it was installed.
Should I repair or replace my siding?
If the damage is limited to one wall, a section repair, trim to trim, can make sense. If the same problem shows up on every side of the house, replacement is usually cheaper over time.
What are the signs that siding needs to be replaced?
Soft or swollen bottom edges, cracks, boards that won’t hold paint, and gaps at the joints. See the warning signs above.
Is vinyl or fiber cement better?
Vinyl costs less and is easier to repair. Fiber cement costs more, holds paint, and won’t fade or melt the way vinyl can. Vinyl or fiber cement? →
How long does siding replacement take?
About two working weeks for siding alone, three with soffit and fascia, plus painting if the siding is primed.
Can I change the style of my home's exterior?
Yes. Lap, vertical panel, shingle and board-and-batten can be mixed, and we’ll show you the result on a 3D model of your own house first.
What colors and design options are available?
Primed siding can be painted any color. ColorPlus comes in James Hardie’s factory colors.
Do I need HOA approval?
If you’re in an HOA, start that conversation before you hire anybody. Most architectural committees meet about monthly, and our HOVER model of your house is usually what they ask to see.
